White powder, sweet taste. Relative density 6.94. Refractive index 2.25. Soluble in hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, ammonium acetate solution; insoluble in water and organic solvents. Turns gray-black at around 200℃; turns yellow at around 450℃. Has excellent thermal stability and weather resistance. Has antioxidant and UV shielding capabilities. Excellent initial coloring ability, can produce white products. Unstable, can decompose spontaneously. Burns when exposed to fire. Toxic!
Applications
Used as a heat stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride. Suitable for opaque polyvinyl chloride rigid pipes, sheets, injection molded products, and also used for soft products of artificial leather. Due to its excellent weather resistance, it is widely used in polyvinyl chloride electrical insulation materials, and is particularly suitable for making wires, cables, etc.
