Physical and chemical properties: Yellow or slightly reddish yellow powder, fine flaky crystals, easily discolored when exposed to light. Melting point (°C): 888. Boiling point (°C): 1535. Relative density (water=1): 9.53. Insoluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, soluble in nitric acid, acetic acid, and hot alkaline solution.
Applications: Production of lead salt plastic stabilizers, composite lead stabilizers; manufacturing of lead-containing glass; used in the production of ceramic glazes; used in the production of lead salt products such as lead silicate and chrome yellow; analytical grade used for fire assay testing of gold and silver content; used for filling lead-acid battery grid lead plate electrodes; used as a drier in paint production.
